The Chinese military has conducted intensive naval and air patrols in the South China Sea, following joint patrols organized by the Philippines with other countries, which Beijing describes as provocative foreign interference that has harmed peace and stability in the region.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi: The Japanese Prime Minister publicly stated that a Taiwan contingency could constitute a survival-threatening situation that might trigger the use of collective self-defense. This is the first time in 80 years that a Japanese Prime Minister has made such remarks. It directly violates China’s territorial sovereignty and directly challenges the fact that Taiwan has been returned to China. It completely violates Japan’s commitments to China. Could China possibly accept such a provocation? No—no Chinese person could accept it.
German Chancellor Merz: China wants to be a leader in shaping the world, and it has paved the ground for that over many years, with strategic patience. In the foreseeable future, Beijing could be on an equal footing with the United States in military terms. China systematically uses the dependencies of others, and it redefines the international order in its own favor
China says it opposes "all attempts to annex" Palestinian territories.
French President Macron: End of Russia as a permanent provider of local energy. End of China as a main export market. The U.S. imposing tariffs on our economy and a coercion mechanism. This is a game changer, which is why this is not just a transition, and none of these new factors will change in the short run. This is not a temporary shock. This is clearly a structural turning point.
The U.S. House of Representatives passed the PROTECT Taiwan Act, which directs the United States to exclude China from international financial institutions if Chinese actions threaten Taiwan's security. The bill, which passed the House 395-2, must still be approved by the Senate and signed by the President before it becomes law

Taiwanese Foreign Ministry: US-Chinese Presidential Call Will Enhance Regional Security
Trump: I just had a very good phone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping. It was a long and detailed call, and we discussed many important topics, including trade, military affairs, my upcoming trip to China in April (which I'm very much looking forward to.), Taiwan, the Russia-Ukraine war, the situation in Iran, China's purchases of oil and gas from the United States, China's consideration of increasing its agricultural purchases (including increasing this season's soybean production to 20 million tons, and they have already committed to 25 million tons next season.), aircraft engine deliveries, and many other issues. All the discussions were very positive. The relationship between the United States and China, and my personal relationship with President Xi Jinping, is very good, and we both recognize the importance of maintaining this good relationship. I believe that during my three-year presidency, the work related to President Xi Jinping and the People's Republic of China will yield many positive results.

China's senior-most general, Zhang Youxia, accused of leaking information about the country's nuclear-weapons program to the US and accepting bribes for official acts
Trump: If Governor Carney thinks he is going to make Canada a “Drop Off Port” for China to send goods and products into the United States, he is sorely mistaken. China will eat Canada alive, completely devour it, including the destruction of their businesses, social fabric, and general way of life. If Canada makes a deal with China, it will immediately be hit with a 100% Tariff against all Canadian goods and products coming into the U.S.A.
